In response, Moncton's Petitcodiac River empties and refills twice a day in accordance with the powerful tides. St John's, Newfoundland, Canada

The classic harbor city of St. John's was settled in 1528, making it the oldest city in North America. Halifax, Canada

Rich in charm and history, Halifax is a compact city perfect for exploring on foot.
