Nice, France and Monte Carlo, Monaco's Topography

The Côte d'Azur is encircled by the Alps and borders the Mediterranean Sea. Beaches and sub-tropical plant life abound, and there are also alpine forests in the mountains and their foothills. Nice is very busy and well-developed, yet it retains a small-town character. Monaco is tiny and occupies a sea-front cliff. It is highly-developed and offsets "light industry" factories with its well-preserved historic buildings.
