Moorea

This beautiful and peaceful island is home to the most spectacular bays in French Polynesia. Cook and Opunohu Bays have calm, crystal waters, still enough to reflect the island's volcanic peaks. This mountainous island has 8 peaks, the most interesting being the Moua Puta (pierced mountain). Swim with dolphins, sunbathe in the white sand beaches, and visit one of the many pineapple plantations for a first-hand look at islander life.

Tahiti

This beautiful nation within French Polynesia offers the comfort and relaxation of a tropical paradise combined with all the pleasures of French high society and culture. The shimmering lagoon and sparkling beaches beckon sun and surf-lovers while the capital city of Papeete offers luxuries, such as fine dining and the most recent in European fashion. Spend your days lounging by the sea or exploring the lush jungle interior of the island and your nights curled up in your seaside home or dining and dancing in a chic European resort. The French art world knew of the value of this island and many famous artists, such as Paul Gauguin, took up residence here. There are several fantastic galleries and museums featuring works of both past and up-and-coming artists.

Bora Bora

This picture perfect paradise offers the most beautiful lagoon of the entire archipelago, as well as adventures you will find no where else, like shark feeding! Since it is a volcanic island very near to Tahiti, the landscape is very similar yet it is neither as populated or as touristy as Tahiti, so you can enjoy your little piece of paradise in comparative isolation.

Huahine

Actually made up of two small islands joined by an isthmus, quiet and serene Huahine is a place for total escape, with little more disturbance than the crashing of the waves. inside the ring of coral that borders most of the islands. Vanilla plantations send the sweet smell throughout most of the island, which is a gold mine for archeologists. Ancient Huahine is visible both in open daily life and at numerous digs throughout its 50 square miles.

Raiatea/Manihi

These two islands, which occupy either side of Tahiti, have distinctly individual personalities. Raiatea is the administrative center for the Iles Sont le Vent (Leeward Islands of the Society Islands), but its natural attraction is great, including a species of flower that exists nowhere else on earth - the Tiare Apetahi. This large white flower blooms only at dawn and makes a slight popping sound. Locals often sleep in the mountains so that they can hear the blossoms in the morning! Manihi made its name as the home of the black pearl. This luminous jewel was a common luxury of Victorian aristocracy and is now farmed most at Manihi. This island is only 3.5 miles wide and 19 miles long, with a tiny population of 400, the majority of whom are black pearl farmers!.
