Mexico City, Mexico

Mexico City, Mexico's Topography

The capital of Mexico stands 7,400 feet above sea level beneath 2 volcanoes, Popocatépetl and Ixtaccíhuatl. It is a huge, highly-developed city, chic and modern but proudly showcasing its ancient native history and Colonial roots. Many of the buildings are in the exuberant Latin American Baroque style. The attractive city is made up of 16 delegaciones (districts) and about 400 colonias (neighborhoods) with many green spaces and quiet back streets.
