The 7 mountains of Killington sit on a corner of the Calvin Coolidge State Forest, 16 miles east of Rutland and 18 miles west of Woodstock. Each mountain has its own distinct terrain. Many of the early trails are classically narrow and winding. Trails cut in the 1990s are wide-open and straight down the fall line. Nine separate, but interconnected, skiing areas served by 20 lifts. Killington's 95 miles of terrain include trails for all skill levels and a snowboard park.
The four distinct seasons cycle in Killington, but its far northern location and high altitudes keep summers refreshingly mild, spring and fall cool, and winters strong, covered in 250 inches snow.
