Harbour Town

Sea Pines Plantation is home to Harbour Town, a Mediterranean-style cluster of shops and restaurants. The 605-acre Sea Pines Forest Preserve is also located in this area. You'll enjoy a plentiful fishing pond and a waterfowl pond, and an impressive 3,400-year-old Indian shell ring.

Audubon-Newhall Preserve

At the southern tip of the island, this preserve has 50 acres of untouched forest with native plant life that is identified and tagged. Take a self-guided tour along the trails, or join one of the seasonal plant walks.

Daufuskie Island

Boat trips to this nearby island leave from Hilton Head on a regular basis. Most of the locals live on small farms amidst remnants of churches, homes, and schools leftover from antebellum times. Magnificent stands of palmettos, pines, and oaks abound.
