Though Frankfurt is extremely Americanized, important historical monuments still exist in this part of the city. Parks, gardens, and outdoor cafes are set among the modern architecture and Römerberg, the historic heart of Frankfurt, is located here.

Westend

This part of the city is become increasingly fashionable and now features many stylish hotels and restaurants. The Botanical Gardens and the fairgrounds are also located here.

Sachsenhausen

Located on the south bank of the Main River, this old quarter of the city features cobblestone streets, half-timber houses, and beer gardens. Visitors find fewer banks here and more traditional Apfelwein (apple-wine) taverns, which feature a green pine wreath above the door.
