Located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, on Canada's east coast, Prince Edward Island is 140 miles long. It's as narrow as 4 miles in some places, and as wide as 40 miles in others. But nowhere on the Island are you more than 16 miles from the sapphire sea and its red, sandy beaches. Inland, emerald valleys provide the perfect landscape for walking and cycling.
Prince Edward Island is milder than the Canadian mainland because it's surrounded by the warm waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Summers are warm, and July and August are the driest months of the year. Winters are very cold, with temperatures falling to the freezing mark.
