Berlin, Germany

After suffering division for nearly 30 years, Berlin was finally reunited in 1989 and is now the democratic capital of Germany. While the former East and West Berlins continue to grow together as one city, there are obvious differences between the two. The historic eastern part of town boasts renovated grand avenues, monumental architecture, and world-renowned museum treasures, while the western part of town has built entirely new museums, monuments, and cultural centers.

Frankfurt German

Frankfurt is Germany's fifth-largest city and the financial powerhouse of the country. Home to the European Central Bank, the German Central Bank, and many other financial institutions housed in vast skyscrapers, Frankfurt has earned the nickname "Mainhattan"-for both the Main River that flows through the city and its economic counterpart in New York.
